IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law’s alumni are our greatest asset, which is why alumni engagement is critical to the school’s success. We invite dedicated alumni with wide-ranging areas of expertise to get involved with the school by serving on the Alumni Board of Directors, the Young Alumni Council or on one of the following advisory boards, supporting specific Chicago-Kent initiatives.
Bay Area Intellectual Property Advisory Board
The Bay Area Intellectual Property Advisory Board makes recommendations on how to better position Chicago-Kent graduates to enter the intellectual property law field in the San Francisco Bay Area, and how to build greater networking opportunities among Chicago-Kent IP alumni in the Bay area.
Continuing Legal Education Advisory Boards
Each year, Chicago-Kent partners with external organizations to present a variety of Continuing Legal Education conferences for academics and practitioners, including the Federal Tax Institute, the Section 1983 Civil Rights Litigation Conference and the eDiscovery Institute. Each conference has its own advisory board that works throughout the year to shape the format and content of conference programming.
DC Area Intellectual Property Advisory Board
The DC Area Intellectual Property Advisory Board makes recommendations on how to better position Chicago-Kent graduates to enter the intellectual property law field in the Washington, DC area, and how to build greater networking opportunities among Chicago-Kent IP alumni in the DC area.
Institute for Compliance Advisory Board
The Institute for Compliance Advisory Board consists of leading practitioners in the compliance field, including general counsels of investment banks, chief compliance officers, law firm partners, and former regulators. Board members advise the Institute on preparing law students for careers in compliance.
Entrepreneurial Law Clinic Advisory Board
The Entrepreneurial Law Clinic Advisory Board was created to support the law school’s newest law clinic, offering advice and guidance on providing students with the tools and expertise necessary to counsel emerging companies.
Institute on the Supreme Court of the United States (ISCOTUS)
The Institute on the Supreme Court of the United States combines Chicago-Kent’s core strengths–cutting edge legal scholarship and technological innovation. The Institute has three main components: The Oyez Project; Civic Education; and the Academic Center. The ISCOTUS Advisory Board supports the activities of the Institute and its members serve as ambassadors for the Institute to the larger legal, educational, and civic communities.
Kenneth Piper Endowment Advisory Board
The Kenneth M. Piper Memorial Lecture in Labor Law brings together experts from labor, management and academia to debate current issues in labor relations. The Kenneth Piper Endowment Advisory Board assists in selecting a speaker and topic for the annual lecture.
Law Review Alumni Board
The Law Review Alumni Board is a resource for current Law Review students, enabling them to contact and connect with Law Review alumni.
