Last month, Chicago-Kent welcomed 246 new students including three PLUS program alums, four foreign law graduates and four students with perfect GPAs (4.0+)! This cohort has earned 24 graduate degrees, including three Ph.D.s, and they hail from 28 states and are citizens of six countries. They speak 19 languages and their past professions include an editor, a playwright, and a Musician Third Class in the US Navy.

Save the date, Wednesday, November 20, for the 41st annual Alumni Awards Celebration recognizing Chicago-Kent graduates who have made a significant contribution to the legal community or the law school and to recognize alumni volunteers for the law school during the 2018-19 school year.

Professor marzÁn receives best book award
 

On September 12, Professor Rosado Marzán and his co-author Professor Sergio Gamonal C. will receive the Simón Bolívar best book of the year award from the Bar Association of Puerto Rico. Their book, Principled Labor Law: U.S. Labor Law through a Latin American Method, was published May 2019 by Oxford University Press. Read more...

On September 25, Professor Harley will receive the 2019 Environmental Leadership Award, the highest recognition given by Illinois Environmental Council. He was nominated by the Little Village Environmental Justice Organization, which has received services through the Environment and Energy Law Clinic for the past 20 years.
