C-K Law Group Reopens Immigration lAW Clinic

Chicago-Kent is excited to announce that the C-K Law Group has reopened its immigration law clinic with the arrival of Victoria Carmona, who joined the law school's faculty as the director and supervisory attorney for the clinic. Students assist clients in preparing affirmative applications and attending interviews before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services including applications for permanent residency, citizenship, and humanitarian relief including: asylum, special immigrant juvenile, DACA, stays of removal, U-visa and VAWA. Students will also have the opportunity to attend removal proceedings for defensive relief before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (Immigration Court), including asylum/withholding/CAT and cancellation of removal. Read more...

Congratulations Professor Batlan

Professor Felice Batlan has been appointed co-editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Legal History. The Solo & Small Practice Incubator is now accepting applications for the 2020-21 program. SSPI is a one-year program designed to provide Chicago-Kent graduates with training, mentoring, office space, and resources to help them launch their own solo or small firm practices. Chicago-Kent has won the 2019 Henry J. Ramsey, Jr. Diversity Award from the Law Student Division of the American Bar Association. The award recognizes Chicago-Kent’s efforts to create a more welcoming environment for transgender, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming members of the law school community. Read more...
